Off For The Summer!

Posted on May 18 2012 - 10:55pm

We will not have any pack meetings during the summer so as to allow you more time with your scout.  However, be looking at the news each Sunday as we will post activities in which you and your scout may want to  participate.  Den meetings for the summer are up to the individual Den Leader, so check with your leader to see if you will be meeting during the summmer.  I know Den 1 and Den 8 have elected to continue meetings during the summer thus far.  Our pack meetings will resume in August.  Please have a safe and wonderful summer and don't forget that things you do this summer can count towards your new rank!  So, get your book soon and see what you can accomplish this summer!  For beltloops and pins, the website www.usscouts.org is an excellent site to use to see the requirments.  Go to the Advancements link in the upper left corner and then select Cub Scouts.  It lists each one down the left side of the page.

It's not too late to sign up for Day Camp and Residence Camp!

Posted on May 18 2012 - 10:44pm

We still have room for anyone wanting to sign up for camps.  Day Camp is June 7-9 from 8am-4:30pm each day.  Residence Camp is Aug 2-4 for cubs that will be Tigers, Wolves and Bears this fall.  It is July 16-20 for those that are Webelos I & II this fall.  Pricing is as follows:  $50 for Day Camp for any rank.  $160 for Webelos Residence Camp for the youth.  Adults going are $90.  Cub camp is $120 for the youth and $80 for the adult.  Day Camp registration will be closing very soon.  Residence camp will be open a while longer, but it would be best to get registered soon so you stay up to date on the information sent out by email to the participants.  Any questions, contact Lori Tarbutton or Deidre Wilson by txt or phone.  Lori's number is 693-1455 and Deidre's is 664-2991.   You will notice 3 attachments to this article.  They are the Leader Guides for all 3 camps.  You may look through them for information about what your child and you may expect at camp.  They also have the list of recommended items to bring and more importantly...What To Leave At Home.  lol  The what to leave at home list is something I want all of the parents to note.  The kids are not to have cell phones or any other electronics at any of the camps.  I know many parents provide their child with a cell phone, including me.  Please DO NOT send a cell phone to camp with your child.  We will provide you with a couple of contact numbers for camp in case of an emergency.  Cameras are welcome, but I recommend the disposable kind and not an expensive one.
